Is Romeo and Juliet even about Love?
Romeo and Juliet is supposedly the greatest love story, but what if it wasn't a love story. If you look deeper and read in between the lines, you can figure out how different people perceive the same story. There have been many theories on how the story might have a broader meaning. Some being on how we are actually meant to hate Romeo, written in the Mary Sue blog by Glen Tickle.
"This love feel I, that feel no love in this", this line said by Romeo tells us how he's the only one in love in his and Rosaline relationship. She made it very clear on how she had no love towards Romeo. This backs up my prediction on how Romeo moved on to fast. According to a conversation on "ask men boards", the amount of time it takes to recover from a break up varies from months and years. Although the time wasn't clarified from when he first fell in love with Rosaline, you can clearly see how fast Romeo made the switch. It only took one glance for Romeo to fall out of love with Rosaline straight to Juliet. In modern terms we would call him a player.
LADY CAPULET- "She's not fourteen." She tells us how Juliet is not even fourteen yet, and how she is expected to get married to Paris at such a young age. Juliet being my age right now, I can relate to her feelings and emotions. We love someone but then we soon realize that it's just us being over dramatic or hormonal. Most of us haven't even experienced true love. If we haven't then how is Juliet supposed to. In her mind Romeo might be a good looking guy that wants her. In reality they are still teenagers. a lot of people are "in love with the concept of love". They want to be in love and have a happily ever after, but that's not how the world works. Teenagers have crushes but nothing compares to true love. Romeo showed how he loved Rosaline but then realized that you actually didn't even love her. This shows how teens think that something is there but it actually isn't. We are naïve and unaware of the actual meaning of love.
Juliet is a young teenager girl that is about to marry a much older man. Romeo might be her escape. She is running away from her problems by using him. People might think of Juliet as being a little girl that isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. She can be hiding behind a mask. Juliet can possibly be manipulating everyone around her. In the end she might have killed herself because her plan didn't go as planned and she didn't want to get caught. The Friar and Nurse were doing all of her dirty work. She took advantage of a desperate guy, Romeo, to benefit herself. “I’ll send a friar with speed To Mantua, with my letters to thy lord" Friar was the one to organize how the letter was going to get to Romeo. Juliet did nothing but give her consent. She kept her hands off the evidence. In the end when everyone blames Friar, he says "Doth make against me of this direful murder". He realized looking back how this looked like it was his fault. No one got mad at Juliet; they ended up making a pure gold statue of her. "For I will raise her in pure gold". Either way Juliet won in both circumstances. If Romeo lived, she would run off and live her own life away from her family.
Re-reading most of the script of Romeo and Juliet the opinions of others was starting to show. This play has so many different ideas and arguments over how if this is even about love. This wasn't based on true love but more of an perception of love. All in all depending on who you ask and how you word the question, you could get countless miss matched opinions of how Shakespeare meant to portray the play. If only he was still alive we would be able to find the answers to varies question.

Essay Topic
"A) Romeo and Juliet is widely considered one of the greatest love stories of all time. Decide if Romeo and Juliet's love is "real". Provide specific quotes from the play, use "real world" or personal examples, as well as any research on biology or relationships you do to support your position. Can we define love? Are there different kinds of love? Is one better or more "real" or valuable than another? Why? Is committing suicide for each other romantic? Can it "true love" in the middle and NOT romantic in the end? "
I am choosing the first essay topic because I am able to expand on the idea that this is the first time that Juliet has been "in love". She is still only a young teenager. ,She hasn't lived life to realize what true love actually is. In my opinion Juliet is in love with the fact of being "in love". I am really excited to express my opinion in the form of an essay.
I already have an idea of what I need to research for my essay. I am planning on having 4 main ideas that will help me begin my essay. They will be " Juliet hasn't experienced love until now". "She is being forced to get married to Paris, so this might be a plan to get out of the marriage". "Juliet is very hormonal being a teenager, she doesn't know what she wants yet". Finally "Romeo is moving on to fast, Juliet might be his rebound".

What is love?
I love Juliet with all my heart. Shes the daughter that I've always wanted. I love Juliet more than I love my own children. This is probably because I see Juliet almost every single day. I was married, and I loved my husband. However back in that time we were in an arranged marriages. Therefore the difference between Juliet and my husband, were different types of love.

English 10 Midterm
This term so far has helped me grown as a student. in terms of being responsible, dedicated, and organized. entering English 10 I didn't expect to be able to understand and comprehend so quickly.
A-In class I'm participating, listening and learning. I usually come to class if not my absences are excused. during class I spend majority of the time on task but there are sometimes when "I ride the elephant".
B-All of my assignments have been handed in... some have been late but I have already discussed the reason.
C- I put effort and concentration into each and every piece of work that I post. My work compared to Gaby's varies in size and vocabulary. You can tell that gaby puts more time into her work compared to mine. I could improve by not rushing and finishing things quicker rather then procrastinating!
D- My participation in class is more socially than verbally. I don't like speaking in front of the class due to anxiety, but with English 10 being online I am able to express my opinion in more ways then one. during out introduction post at the beginning of the year, Joven was having trouble's with coming up with a good topic sentence. we both brain stormed different options. we came up with a great opening sentence, "Every one says how being a teenager is so much easier then being an adult. According to most adult's teenagers don't have any responsibilities and commitments." I also helped Gaby and Erlynn with reading their work and helping them improve.in my opinion the best comment I wrote to help contribute to the class discussions was " Hes explaining how love is complicated and takes time, the line "What is it else? a madness most discreet," He tells us how love is madness and it secretly drives you crazy and insane." this was written on part 4 from the translations of Romeo and Julliet.
Over all I think that I deserve a 75% or 76%.
